Dragon NaturallySpeaking® 8 Preferred teams up with the ultimate in wireless freedom for the office – the Plantronics CS60 wireless headset

LONDON, United Kingdom, August 30, 2005 -- ScanSoft, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSFT), the leading supplier of speech and imaging solutions, has today announced the availability of Dragon NaturallySpeaking® (DNS) 8 Preferred, bundled with the CS60 wireless headset from Plantronics, world leader in communications headsets. This new release of the speech recognition application for Microsoft Windows, represents the most advanced and easy to use version of ScanSoft’s world leading speech recognition technology in a totally wireless solution.

The new Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8 Preferred Wireless with Plantronics CS60 headset adds a totally wireless solution to the Dragon-family. Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8 Preferred, launched in October 2004, enables small business and advanced PC users to create documents, spreadsheets and e-mail by speaking. Dictations can be made instantly and accurately into Microsoft® Word and Excel®, Corel® WordPerfect® and virtually all Windows®-based applications, or into a handheld device such as a digital recorder or PDA. The Plantronics CS60 headset has an operating range of up to 100 metres and a talk time of up to nine hours (60 hours standby time), giving the user a tremendous amount of wireless freedom in the office throughout the entire business day. The CS60 has a fast recharge time and is even compatible with most business softphones.

Availability

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8 was launched in October 2004 and is available in Standard, Preferred, Professional and Mobile versions. Starting from end September, Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8 Preferred Wireless will be available as a bundle with the Plantronics CS60 wireless headset in the UK, Germany, France and the Benelux, and is priced at £199.99 in the UK and 299 Euros in the rest of Europe.
